Children's Literature Institute Returns Worcester State’s renowned Children's Literature Institute—formerly the Author’s Institute—returns to campus for the 17th time this summer starting Monday, June 26. Foundation Board Members Elected Greta Bajrami Campoverde, Geovanna I. Diaz ’12, M.A. ’14, Meaghan Dougherty ’19, and Sharen C. Shipley ’74 were elected on June 8. Dollars for Scholars Online Auction Worcester State University is auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to raise money for students, scholarships, research funds, book funds, and money for unforeseen emergencies. Final Day of Giving Results More than 633 alumni, students, and friends contributed more than $72,000 to support a wide range of causes across the entire university community. Memories Rekindled at Reunion 2017 Members of the Worcester State Classes of 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, and 1977 came back to campus to celebrate Reunion Weekend 2017 on May 19-21. Moving Beyond Textbooks A pilot program encompassing 10 classes allowed students to use resources outside of traditional textbooks in order to save money while learning the same material. Equestrian Club Wins Big The WSU Equestrian Club fought its way to the top of two spring shows and placed third in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s regional competitions. Mullin Gift to Support Music at WSU A generous gift from Robert E. Mullin '53 will endow a fund to support music at WSU. The first beneficiary of this fund will be Worcester State University Chorale.
