Generous donations to the Worcester State Fund accomplish so much each year. These are just a few examples of how your support improved the experience of our student experiece at Worcester State University during the 2013-2014 academic year:
- Twenty-eight new funds were established this past year, including new scholarships and academic achievement awards, funds to support equipment upgrades and a number of grant-specific funds supporting academic endeavors.
- The breadth and depth of our scholarship offerings continue to increase along with the needs from our students. The Worcester State Foundation awarded $250,000 in student scholarships and more than $32,000 to support academic programming initiatives.
- A Student Emergency Fund, inititated by students and supported by alumni, parents and friends, granted funding to 28 students in need. By covering expenses such as the puchasing of textbooks, food, living expenses and transportation costs, these emergency funds heped students at risk from dropping out by allowing them to continue with their studies.
Gifts of any size to the Worcester State Fund expand scholarships, scholarly research grants, and academic enrichment initiatives. By providing these opportunities to our students we ensure that when they graduate, they will have the competitive edge they need to succeed.
