1. Submit your application early. Applications that are submitted early may be reviewed by committee members and returned to you should the committee need clarification.
2. Is your application presented professionally - well-written, thoughtful, and individual? Proposals that show attention to detail and address questions in a thoughtful manner receive higher ratings by the committee.
3. Include well-stated, realistic goals and timeline. Describe your plan to accomplish these goals and identify how you will track progress toward these goals.
4. Include a detailed and realistic budget. Include revenue, expenses and describe how you intend to utilize AAAB funding.
5. Describe how the proposal meets the goals of the AAAB. Carefully read the goals of the AAAB for the fiscal year in which you are applying and draw on how your project will help address these goals.
6. Show how the project will benefit the Worcester State community, the greater Worcester community, or the global community. How will this project benefit the target audience? How will the project benefit those participating?
7. Does the project bring together both WSU students and alumni? The Alumni Association strives to provide meaningful connections between students and alumni. For example, networking receptions, seminars and reunions hosted by your organization that are open to alumni and students will accomplish this goal.
8. Does your project increase public awareness and positive perception of WSU students, alumni, programs or the University?
9. Does your project promote the Alumni Association as a relevant and integral part of the University community?
10. Express gratitude to the committee for the opportunity to submit the application.
